The first year sem exams felt like a marathon. One and a half months of late nights, Hostel made Chai and what not? And here I am two months into my second year and I never thought I'd make it. I had a three week "Vaccation". Most of which was spent at home on the comp. Hours of browsing through Musicians friend and I realise it an "America & Canada" only service. Oh yeah! I'm drumming again. After a month of snooping around I finally got my "DRUMS" and I had to wait another month to get my cymbals. Its a modest 5 Piece Kit. Its got 22' x 16' kick, 12' x 10' and 13' x 11' toms
,16' x 16' floor tom and 5-1/2' x 14' snare. I bought a Ziljian pack (Planet z). I know they suck. It was'nt what i really had in mind but they where all that the music stores all around had. So screw. And once you've paid eight grand, they'll start sounding good. The shells are all in a fairly dark metallic shade of blue and the cymbals are really shiny (that wont last tho). We have plans of jamming some time soon in college. Couple guys from class and others. Oh yeah and We had an "Industrial Visit". We spent half an hour at some posh building in Kakanad (CROW LAND) and then spent two days at Munnar. Thats an "INDUSTRIAL VISIT" (apparently). And the football coaching camp starts on the day after the day college reopens. I spent a coupla days (The first three days of ONAM hols) at CHENNAI wid friends before I got home. Results will be out soon. The juniors are are waiting for me (BP GUFFAWS).OK...I gotta go have a bath now. BUBYE!

When Eventful is an understatement..
What do I do when a handful of amature Indian and International tennis players meet at My College, to play for $10,000? First I volunteer to help and after the first day of event, I get my left knee rolled, and I leave the next day with a cast from my left thigh to the left ankle. Not exactly what I had in mind for the study holidays, but I actually ended up studying. Here's how i got rolled: I had been doing a lot of running around for the college during the build up to the event; I ended up catching a really bad cold ( The Headaches came free wid it); A lot of stuff had been going on in the hostel then which involved late nights; I was recovering from a back problem etc. On top of all that I skipped breakfast on the day. So there I was walking around doing my volunteer business when MBA people ask me to help them get the court ready 'cuz Vasu (the guy in charge of maintaining the court) had gone for his cup of Chaya and with him his entire team of "Experts" ("Coolikar"). So that meant we had to clean the court and get it rolled. I helped them with the roller. There were four of us pulling the shaft. The sun was'nt really "Merciful". After a couple of laps, I blacked out. Before I hit the floor however, I came around and did a somersault and tried to roll out of the rollers way. My left knee however was'nt really very lucky. And thats how I got my cast. I'm not sure Ill play again. Exams are on their way. One almost down, three more to go.

THE RESULTS ARE OUT!!
Well the breaks over. Things are getting back to the way they were. The seniors are busy with exams but they do join us for a game of football every evening (Nw thts Passion). The football team in the college has some serious talent. But the teams got almost no support from the management. Until now. The college grounds are going to be weeded, levelled and finally (Hold your breath) they are going to be spreading artificial turf on the ground. Thats great news and they are even going to be building stands around the field. Sounds great right? NOPE. From what Iv heard, By the time the management brings in these changes, we'd all have grey beards , hunchbacks and dark glasses. Well the latest buzz is about some football tournament in Calicut (Thts home mind you). Well i just hope the team does well. Oh an BTW I dint flunk in any subject. Everything from a bare pass in graphics (40% ....) to a whopping 96% to electrical and everything in between (Chew on that for a while....). Signing off.

Christmas 07 (Winter break)
Finally as the year crawls to an end, I find myself finally settled in college. Raggings comming to an end, I got busted by the warden, I'v got a huge group of friends, I'm flunking Civil, I got to play for the college(I sucked tho), I'm gonna be picking my drum sticks again and our class rocks!! Couldn't get better. It could tho...The class still sees me as a nerd a "Bhujji"(not for long the First series results are on their way). I'm flunking Civil and I'm glad I have company (de big man said "Flunking"= Motivation" so no probs). Forget the classroom, all the action happens in the hostel. I'm now OFFICIALLY in the wardens watch list for spending 12 hours on "Shopping". We left at 8:40 AM and returned at 8:40 "P"M. We had been asked to make our parents call the warden (Your always welcome to make blank calls to his phone) . Now my chances of staying in the hostel next year are as good as me those of me passing civil this time around. Coupla more days at home an thats it...Im off to FISAT again.

GUESS WHUZ BACK...?!?!?(AGAIN)
ME!!!
After enduring loads of ragging, boring lectures, a finger surgery etc. HERE I AM!! Well the college is gr8. Its about an hour from Kochi, located in MOOKANNOOR (the middle of no-where and hence ensuring tht we the hostelites stay in our beds evrynyt). Well, there are three courses offered in the campus; MBA, MCA and (ofcourse) B.Tech. There are four branches of ENGG. taught in the campus; EEE, ECE, EIE and CSE(thts mine btw). Well the first day of college wasnt really worth remembering but the first night in the hostel wuz a different story altogether. I am now officially the first student to get ragged in my batch. Well its kinda fun actually. Here are a few things I learnt about my seniors
DO:
- PRETEND TO BE INTIMIDATED.
- GIVE YOUR NAME IN FULL.
- GIVE UR BRANCH IN FULL.
- (LASTLY) DO WAT THEY SAY.
DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT:
- SMILING.
- NOT FOLLOWING THE DO'S.
- ASKING QUESTIONS.
- COMPLAINING (YOU'LL HAVE TO WAIT FOR YOUR TURN NEXT YEAR).
Anywayz life in the hostel cannot get any better. And wats better than life in the hostel...???
CLASSES! Im kidding...its in between classes when you get to socialise. Well classes are boring as usual. Ive got no favorite teacher as such but i know who leads the table from the bottom.

- Antony (Erm....leftie)

And about my finger, I fragmented a bone while playing the "EVIL" game (CRICKET!!). The fragment decided to visit the top of my right ring finger and got stuck there. Well the doctors had to send the fragment back home and put a restraining order on it in the form of a thin metal rod (Oh ok, wire!!). I had my ring finger in an aluminium support and a sling. The sling went off after the first week. The Support went off today. But the metal rods still in there. Its kinda gross, so Viewer discretion advised. It'll keep me sidelined for atleast another week. How the beautiful game suffers :P . Well, one helluva month in FISAT.
Bring em on!!!

FISAT IT IS!!
You can starve in a grocery store, get killed by a doctor or even be taught by your teachers. BUT YOU DO NOT GET BORED IN BANGALORE. Im here on business. Training from a legend cannot be boring right? RIGHT. But the rest of the time all I do is pedigree research on people. You learn a lot from dogs. Loyalty, Drooling, teritory marking, Drooling, salivating etc. As my short stay at my cousins place reaches halfway, I learn that you can learn a lot about dogs from people. They way they behave, socialize, sustain themselves and how they rely on other (much more intellectually superior) beings when they hurt their rear limb. Yes I have been totally jobless except when I am in a class room with eight other people having a five day interview before their officer dreams. The teacher, a self proclaimed BRILLIANT person (And mind you thats an understatement), and a not so self proclaimed Colonel, Col. Balasubrahmanian (A k a Col.Bala) has been serving as an Instructor for sixteen years, so hes go to know his job right? RIght again. Meanwhile in kerala, The commisioner has finally ALLOTED us (FINALLY!!), AND, I recieved my Hallticket (YIPEEE!!). Well Im off to FISAT (Well we had tht cummin), An Im not the only one (Din see tht cummin tho). Two of my classmates from Bhavans are packing their bags too. So, I leave bangalore on the tenth night travel by train to Eranakulam, report to college on the eleventh, submit my certificates and then leave by the night train/Bus to bangalore and report to the colonel by next morning. HECTIC!!! Woggay, Finally Im on my way to college!!
